Hi all.....
Well we eventually got around to it and last month we were inspected by Visit Wales on all aspects of The Forge.
We are rated 4* by Holiday Cottages and we are happy with this as although we strive to be as good as we can, we know there are spacial limitations to The Forge as it is a 17th century building. The percentage to reach 5* is 87% = guess what our score was 87%! We are however staying at 4* which more than suits us all. Watch out for the signs coming soon!
On top of this great result we were awarded two additional Welcome Awards noting our service to families and to guests with pets. We are really proud of these awards as there is nothing better than hearing the sounds of children laughing on the ship and dogs protecting the area they now call home! The noisier the better - no one can be disturbed!
We have had some fabulous guests as usual so far this year from as far away as France and Scotland and of course the other end of the M4 where I would say about 60% of our guests travel from. One lovely guest left flowers and wine as a thank you for such a lovely time which was lovely!
It was also special to have families from Leicesestershire and Lincolnshire too - which brought back lots of lovely memories for me!
July is a busy month so let's hope the weather does Wales proud for once!
