Beach and walking adventures
The Heritage Coast covers a stretch of beautiful beaches. Many, including Southerndown, are famous for the geology and as filming locations. Watch out for the white trailers on the headland and you may see the film crew of Doctor Who, Sherlock Holmes, Casualty and others! The tides provide great water sport opportunities such as surfing, paddle boarding or swimming. We recommend you check Surfline.com for tides and swells.

Please note: dogs are banned from 1st May to 30th September at select beaches (Southerndown, Restbay, Llantwit) however, Ogmore-by-sea allows dogs off lead all year round.

The Heritage Coastal Path, which stretches 14 miles along beautiful cliffs, vegetation and bays is perfect for dog walking, challenges or just relaxation. Just one of the opportunities to walk around the area.
Local Gems
There are numerous local eateries around the coastal route - West Farm Coastal Retreat, The Watermill, Cobbles, The Pelican, Coast at the Ewenny Garden Centre, The Pottery at Ewenny, The Fox at St Brides and right on the doorstep Frolics European Restaurant and the locally run Three Golden Cups public house - only 20 steps away!

Southerndown also has its own Cricket ground and club and its own unique church. There are also churches in Ogmore by Sea and St Brides as well as the 900 year old Priory in Ewenny which is open daily for visitors as well as for Sunday services and special cultural events.

There are many towns to visit nearby including
Cowbridge, Llantwit Major and Porthcawl, as well as easy access to Cardiff and Swansea and not forgetting the Designer Outlet Centre outside Bridgend for some serious retail therapy!
